Our first Lunar bowling with the G.B. league
From left - Lauren, Amanda, Anna, Rose, and Danielle.

Just to give you a little hint as to how good we are, our collective team score was around 400.
And this is not to brag, but I did win the G.B. score of the night!

Easter Festivities

"The Hiders"

Easter Sunday was a wonderful day celebrating Christ's resurrection, and fellowship with 17 of our dear friends here in Seguin.
We had a table full of delicious food and cool spring weather that was perfect for a fantastic picnic. After lunch the "Hiders" hid over 250 eggs in the backyard for the 7 "Seekers" to find.

And they're off!

The Hiders enjoyed watching the delight of the Seekers.

Miss Anna helping point out eggs missed.

After Noah filled up his basket to the brim with eggs, he disappeared. Only to be found behind a tree devouring as much chocolate as he could unwrap before being discovered.

Nickel's are family

The Nickel family has been dear to us since the day they moved to Texas. And even though we have moved around a bit we have still kept up our relationship with them.
From the left,Terrance, Louisa, Sydney, Jennifer, Lizzy and Noah.

I love this picture that Melissa took of Berry's and I with a strange man that came and sat down for the picture. Hmmm... photo shop would be nice right about now.

We ended our fun family day at a Mexican restaurant on the river with a delicious meal and a serenade until Jeff reminded us that we had just been sung to about roaches. Nice.

Miss you already my adopted Nieces and Nephew.

Thanksgiving Journal

Flexible Flyer Big Adventure Metal Swing Set

One of our family traditions we started this year is keeping a journal with all the ways that God has provided for us. It is so easy to forget what He has done so in order to help us recount our many blessings Joshua came up with this idea of us having a family journal. Our plan is to read it out loud together every year on Thanksgiving day.

Our list has become quite long since our little family was established five years ago. Our goal is to write down as many details from the past that we can remember and then keep up with the future.

Here are just a few blessings from the past and one from today.
  • God provided financially through a car accident that in turn paid off our wedding, school debt and the birth of Sydney.
  • God provided a job for Joshua so that I could stay home with my sprouts and through that job insurance that paid for the birth of Noah.
  • God provided a minivan through a couple in our church who we did not know. They walked up to us at our church picnic and asked us if they could give us their 2001 Honda Odyssey.
  • God provided for us when Joshua was laid off from his job in the spring of 2008. Within a weeks time rent, a Walmart gift card that was enough to pay for 2 months of groceries and all bills were covered through our Care Group, Church and family until Joshua found another job.
  • God provided for all our needs for us to move to MD for 10 months in order to attend the Pastors College and the birth of Lizzy Grace.
  • And now a new one that will be added to our list today is the swing set that is pictured above. Our dear friends who will remain nameless because they wish it to be, surprised us by ordering a swing set for our backyard. There was no talk between us about this with them until Joshua and I got an email from Walmart telling us when to come and pick it up.
God has been faithful to provide for our every need and to surprise us by blessing us with what we thought was a want and even at times dreams that would never be fulfilled. What is "impossible" through our limited perspective is achievable through God's gracious eternal perspective. Our Thanksgiving journal is a daily reminder to us of the gospel. What we deserve is God's wrath for our sins and what we got is saving grace through Jesus Christ.

"If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!" Matthew 7:11

Girls Night

It was so good to be back in Frisco with some of my old Care Group friends from church.
Since I left we all had babies so we got a reunion shot with our little ones.
In birth order Me with Lizzy Grace, Callie with Annie, Lauren with Ian and Holly with Judson.

We girls love to play a hand of cards especially if Leupen is in the house.
From left "Madam President" Callie Payne, "Lobbyist" Lauren Sok, "Vice Scum" Me, "Scum" Laura Cash, "Vice President" Leslie Leupen, and May Yong is the "Sneaking Politician". Your never sure which way she will play a hand in the game of "Scum." I love that about you May!

I loved our game night and reconnecting with all of you!
Miss you already!

Missing Marylanders

I miss my 6am gym buddy, Starbucks runner, pedicure survivor, iron sharpener and picture angle friend!

What can I say that this picture doesn't already communicate?
Well, lets just say that M.B. was Sydney and Noah's dearly beloved babysitter while we were in G-burg and we miss her duck duck goose, bubble blowing, singing, parent downloading friend. She was not only loved by our sprouts but us as well and we enjoyed many a conversation after date nights with our friend. Our door is always open if you get a hankering for a road trip to Texas.

Miss Deborah was Sydney's beloved Sunday school teacher.
If she just happened to be sick or out of town on a Sunday then good luck getting Sydney to go into her class. :)

Missing Mr. Paul and his hugs.

Lizzy Grace's birthing coach that cheered her on as she made her grand entrance into the world (I still think you need to look into this as a profession).

We are grateful to God for the season we had with all of you!

New Addition

Meet the new addition to the Rohwer family. This is their 6 week old Rhodesian Ridge Back. He is still nameless because Paul and Lauren are in disagreement over what to call him. I think it is still going back and forth between "General" and "Ryder".

Noah and Sydney love him to pieces. They want to shower him with kisses and hugs.

Looks like we are going to have to get a puppy when we get back to Texas!

Half Time

We watched the Super Bowl with our friends from down stairs Paul and Lauren and their good friends Chris and Ally. There were commercials in 3D during half time that were fun to watch. Here is a picture of us with our glasses that Lauren took.

Leslie Leupen Day

This past Tuesday my friend Leslie came to visit us from our home church. We were blessed to get to know her for almost a year in our Care Group before coming to the PC. She functionally walks in the fruit of the spirit of joy. Leslie is one of those rare people who are gifted with the ability to make a rainy day sunny. It was wonderful to see her and spend the day talking and catching up on all the details back home.

One of the things we did was walk around Shady Grove mall together. She purchased a toy puppy that barks, walks and does flips for the sprouts.
It goes through 2 AA batteries in 1 hour. :)

Sydney and Noah thought that "Charlie" was fabulous.

Roaring laughter after every jump.

Ready, sit, jump!
Thank you Leslie for blessing our family with your visit.
You left us encouraged and missing you more then ever!

The Yong's Visit

We had a wonderful visit with our friends Ivan and May from Texas. They were in New York celebrated their 10 year anniversary and were gracious to include us in their vacation. So for the day we had with them it consisted of food, fellowship, tour of PC and a stop at Trader Joe's for May and I to get some yummy snacks. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Ladies Night

Lauren Rohwer (top left) and her CG ladies invited me to a surprise get to know you baby shower this past Tuesday night. They had gotten together and bought our baby girl some very cute outfits along with her very first stuffy (baby sheep). It was a great time of fun and laughter as we shared stories and ate some yummy food. It was a blessing to have been able to spend time with these ladies. Thank you!
