We are still alive. I thought this was a fitting title for the description of our week.
Joshua had a paper due this week and was only able to come home for dinner and then he was off to school again with the computer which is why there have been no posts. He finished it at 3:30 in the morning.
Sydney is sick. She has a virus that has given her a cough, runny nose, ear infection and fever. She was very excited about going to see the doctor because she thought that as soon as he checked out her nose she would be all better to hold Lizzy again. It has been very hard for her not to be able to hold her sister the last few days. She tells Lizzy everyday "As soon as I'm better I'm going to hold you Sister." She is enjoying her pink antibiotics and is improving a little bit every day.
Noah is doing well. He is content to pester his older sister and to play with his Thomas the train toys. He heard Daddy call baby sister "Sunshine" one morning and ever since then he has been calling her "Lizzy-sunshine".
Lizzy is nursing every 2-3 hours and grunts to let you know when it's time for her to eat again. Her breathing is perfectly normal now and there should be no further problems. Her official diagnosis was Pneumonia of the right lower lobe of her lung. The Pneumonia was not caused from the fluid at birth which clears up within 48 hours after delivery. She caught a viral infection in the hospital some how. She responded well to the 7 day run of the antibiotics Ampicillin and Gentaminin. We are grateful for modern medicine and skilled medical staff who took such good care of our baby girl. It's good to finally have her home.
And how am I doing you ask? Well, God is good to continue to give me strength for the tasks that he has called me to for that day. Every time I wake up I pray and ask God to give me a heart to serve my family. To help me guard my heart from selfishness and a grumbling and complaining spirit and He has been faithful to answer my prayer. It's been a hard week but it has also has been a very rewarding one and for that I am very grateful.
