Still and Quiet

As I have said in the past, when the house is still and quiet something catastrophic is going on. Well, today I was wrong on that theory and these pictures prove it.
Both Noah and Lizzy were sitting as you see in the picture, quietly coloring on their Magnadoodles.

What in the world is going on here and what has happened to my sprouts that they would engineer this moment?

Apparently Noah was coloring and Lizzy decided to join him. :0)

Compassionate Heart

Noah woke up crying and calling for Daddy from his nap yesterday. By the time I got to the door Sydney had already stepped into action. She was talking to Noah and saying "You miss Daddy don't you buddy? Your Daddy's little buddy. It will be ok buddy. Would you like to read my Franklin book?" Sydney had this sweet compassionate voice as she was relating to his sorrow and trying to comfort him until help arrived. It was so good to hear her big sister heart for her little brother.

The First Meeting

Sydney is overjoyed to finally hold her baby sister.

Noah kept kissing her and snuggling his face up to hers.

A little overwhelmed by the flash photography.

Lizzy's in the middle!

Sibling Care

Noah woke up a few nights ago crying. I went in to console him and help him go back to sleep. He asked me to pray for him and to give him hugs and kisses. I happily did all three and was about to leave the room when he stopped me. Noah pointed over at Sydney sleeping in her bed and said "Pray for Sydney. Hugs and kisses." He did not want me to leave without loving on her too.

One morning this past week during Sydney and Noah's "room time" the door became closed and all was quite. This is never a good sign so I proceeded down the hall to say for the 1000th time please don't close the door and to say no to whatever they were doing in secret. I opened the door and to my surprise there was Sydney sitting on the floor with the baby wipes and a clean diaper changing her little brother. Sydney looked up at me and said "Mommy, Noah's diaper was wet so I'm changing it for him." If you ask Sydney what she is going to help with when baby sister is born she will always say "Changing diapers!" I guess she just couldn't wait to get some practice in.

Sweet Moment

This was a spontaneous moment when Sydney asked Noah to come and sit down so that she could read to him. She began flipping through the pages and telling him about the pictures. He in turn was pointing and asking her questions about the pictures. It was a wonderful moment and I am so thankful that the camera was in reach so that we could share it with all of you.
