Survival Mode

Survival mode is the thing that all parents fall into after having a baby. And when you have a 3 year old, 2 year old and a new born it becomes reality for the season. It looks something like this for me right now.

1. You realize that the reason you can't find the baby wipes in the middle of the night is because you are changing the babies diaper with your eyes closed.

2. You need the baby sitter to come early not so that you can prep them to care for your children but so that you can get dressed, fix your hair and put make-up on.

3. You do a double take when passing the mirror because you see something on your face. You then realize it's that thing you used to wear called make-up.

4. You take out the diapers everyday with the guilt of knowing you are filling a landfill with what your child goes through in 1 week.

5. Taking a 5 minute hot shower is like being on the beach in Hawaii.

6. The dishes and laundry should be on the list of the tallest mountains in the world.

7. You have alone time with your husband when your both asleep.

8. You use the word refreshing after describing the 4 hours of sleep you got in a 24 hour period.

9. You call your child the names of the other children before you get to their name.

10. You thank God for the precious family you have and remind yourself it's only for a season.

That's a very funny and acurate list. :) May the Lord continue to give you much strength and joy!
