Lizzy-bear Update 2

We got home late last night from NICU so I did not feel up to posting. The bed was calling my name. So here is the latest on Lizzy.

The 48 hour cultures came back negative for infection in her blood stream. But the doctors still want to keep her at least until next Thursday to finish the round of antibiotics. We still have a few unanswered questions for the doctor but will not be able to speak with him until tomorrow. Such as why was the second X-ray worse then the first if not infection and will she continue to have any specific problems later on at home etc. Lizzy's breathing rate is still sporadic. It goes from 37 one second and will shoot up to the 90's the next. So she is still having to eat through the feeding tube. She loves her pacifier and her Christmas teddy she has in her bed. Last night Joshua and I got to hold her for more then an hour which was the longest since she has been in the NICU. She was alert, eyes open wide and cooing. It was a wonderfully comforting time together. We asked last night if we could take pictures of her in the NICU and they said yes. We will try and post pictures later today.
